August Thalheimer
August Thalheimer (1884 – 1948) was a German communist and theoretician. A founding member of the Communist Party of Germany, summoned to Moscow in 1924 to work for the Communist International and the Marx-Engels Institute. In 1927, Thalheimer gave a series of lectures at the Moscow Sun Yat-sen University (a Comintern training school for Chinese communists in Russia) on the subject of Dialectical Materialism. These lectures were transcribed and form the basis of this textbook; Introduction to Dialectical Materialism: The Marxist World-View.
This book serves as a great introductory resource to the study of Dialectical Materialism, tracing the development of philosophy throughout history across the world, outlining the essential elements of Dialectical Materialism, and finally applying this theory to the development of human society.
